This semester I’ve become very interested in 3D body scans. Up until now everything I’ve done has been great for learning, but the final products have been really low quality. For the final, I’m interested in creating a series of high-quality 3D scans and prints.
I’d like to continue working with Skanect and aerialists. This time around I’ll invest in the professional quality software so I can export high resolution final copies.
I’ll also take better care in Meshmixer after the fact to refine the scans. Then, I will print on the 3D Systems ProJet 660 at LaGuardia Studio. This printer creates sandstone color prints that I really love.
The final piece will hang from either a small piece of aerial silk or rope.
